Make your Halloween party a hit with this spooky and delicious Peanut Butter Monster Munch Party Popcorn recipe. Coated in a combination of peanut butter and Halloween chocolates, this popcorn is perfect for snacking while watching a horror movie or as a festive treat for your guests.

I don’t know about you, but October weekends mean binging Halloween movies on the couch with blankets and endless snacks. Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Nightmare Before Christmas, Twitches – all the classics.

If that’s your vibe this spooky season, then this party popcorn mix is exactly the snack you want to be munching on. Sweet, salty, and delicious, this Halloween Popcorn is so easy to make; you won’t have to touch the stove at all!

Snack mixes like this one are great because they are so customizable. You can mix and match ingredients based on your taste preferences or dietary needs. Plus, you always get a great mix of sweet and salty if you choose your snacks wisely.

In my recipe, I used salty popcorn, pretzels, peanut butter, Reese’s, peanuts, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. But again, you can add in absolutely anything:

  • Melted white/milk/dark chocolate
  • Melted marshmallows
  • Kit Kat bits
  • Oreo crumbles
  • M&M’s
  • Rice cracker bits
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Sprinkles
  • Nuts of choice
  • Cereal of choice
  • Chex mix

The key to this recipe is to warm the peanut butter in the microwave for about 35 seconds before mixing it in with the popcorn. This allows it to coat the pretzels and popcorn easily and evenly!

Using all-natural peanut butter (or nut butter) is also a great option because they tend to be a little runnier due to the oil content. Just remember to stir the oil and butter first.

It’s totally normal to open a new jar of natural peanut butter to have an entire layer of oil sitting at the top. This is because peanut oil naturally separates from peanut butter (kind of like oil and water!).

Unlike other manufactured nut-butters that have chemical ingredients and stabilizers to prevent this from happening, all-natural varieties can be stirred back together and result in a runnier, more “melted” peanut butter which is perfect for this recipe.

If you are making this Halloween Party Popcorn for a school event or need to be wary of nut allergies, you can always swap the peanut butter coating for a nut-free melted chocolate, melted marshmallow, or even a runny frosting.

Why I Love this Peanut Butter Monster Munch Party Popcorn

The great thing about this popcorn snack mix is that there is no real cooking. At most, you have to pop the popcorn and melt the peanut butter – but that’s it!

Especially when the weather gets cold or you want a movie-time snack, it’s so simple to whip up. You don’t have to waste any time before the main event starts. I wouldn’t even blame you if you smuggled this into the actual movie theater…

It’s also the perfect recipe to serve in a big bowl if you’re hosting a Halloween party. Divide them up into little Halloween-themed baggies with twist ties, and it makes an exciting snack to send your kid to school with as sweet treats for the other kids or teachers.

Plus, if you choose to snack add-ins by color, you can easily make this party popcorn mix for any season or holiday. Drop in some peppermint and red and green candies for the holidays or find pastel-colored candies for Easter, the options are endless!

Even better, you can make a big batch in one go and store it in a Ziploc bag or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Overall, this Peanut Butter Monster Munch is a really easy snack that stands out, tastes delicious, and is a kid-friendly finger food.
